why people on the same trip get different sparkies
because each person earns sparkies for the km they shared, then splits them with the driver.
- sparkies are calculated from the segments each passenger is in the car. if someone joins later or leaves earlier, their shared km differ, so they earn a different amount.
- each passenger generates sparkies for those km. that amount splits 50/50: half stays with the passenger and half goes to the driver.
- the driver gets half of what every passenger generated. that's why their share is usually the largest when there are several people.
common questions
is it a bug if two passengers see different numbers?
no. it's normal when they didn't share exactly the same km. the trip pot is the sum of each person's amount, not an equal split.
